what parts are needed to swap in a 6 speed from a auto car? I have 2 weeks before I can sell my car. The state of Illinois sent me a duplicate title with 16 digits on it! I lost the original title. I fed it into my shreader!

I am weighing my options of putting in a 6 speed or getting another car. A quality 700R4 with a quality torque converter that can handle some power will set me back about $3K and im tired of driving a auto car.

So its either sell my 85 for a great loss for what I have into it and get another car or swap in a 6 speed in the '85.

2 weeks and counting.

Where can I get info re: Pace Performance?

FYI here is a zf 6 speed, red tag on ebay brand new:

Plus there was a used zf 6 speed, pedals, hydraulics, clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing, shifter, and I think one other item for $2K. Great deal. Was from a '94 vette with ~78K on the clock.

I think I can swap in a 6 speed for the same amount of money as a built 700R4.

I know you will have to do some cutting for sure... I honestly think it will cost you much more to swap to a 6-speed... If there are any problems with the ZF you will have to rebuild it... clutches and flywheels aren't cheap if they need to be replaced, and you may have problems with the computer. Also, 1994-1996 ZF's aren't as strong as 1993 and prior... you'll notice the earlier tranny's pull more money on eBay.

i've thought about that too....and thought long and hard. Odds are i'll be selling the car at a loss.
