hi, anyone know off hand the front and rear axal nut size on a 74. getting tools ready before putting on blocks. thanks.

If you're asking about the rear spindle threads they are 3/4-20. John correct me here,I think the 69-82 front spindles are also this size, don't recall the smaller 63-68 spindle size.

If you're asking about the studs, like John mentioned the hex is 3/4 the threads are 7/16-20.

I meant the spindle nut size for replacing front bearings. Was going to get a large socket to remove unless they are not that hard to remove. Not sure if rear spindle nut the same size or not either.

The front spindle nut should not be very tight, an adjustable works fine. I adjust them while rotating them forward by tightening, backing off a couple of times, then finger tight and back off one 1/2 flat to hole. If I have to back off more then 1/2 then I'll grind the back of the nut a few thousands on a surface grinder.
The rears are different. you are not going to pull the bearings like you would the front. They are pressed on and grease for life. If you need grease then you need new bearings. I posted a link here a while ago on rebuilding arms, you can also PM me for the link if you like.

The '69-'82 spindle diameter and bearings are larger than '63-'68, but the threads and the nut are the same.
