Finally got the car back home and in the garage! Still working on garage but at least the car is home! Just got door up and started the tape and bed job on the walls. After that I just have to tile the floor around the paint and enjoy the "Vette" room.

Still haven't decided what to do to Original engine other than clean it up and put some paint on it.

Hey. There's room for more Vettes!!!

nice work.

:w

I would need a new wife too!!!! There is room for at least one more in that side (maybe a small one like a 62 or 66-7!) and a two car garage on the other side of the wall that I can get two more in all I have to do is run the AC over to it.

Someday!!!!!

Very nice!

You know, my Dad taught me a trick on sanding drywall when I was putting the finishing touches on our workshop. Did you know that you can use a heavy duty course type large sponge, dip it in water, wring out the excess, and more or less wet sand the mud joints for a faster, neater, cleaner sanding job?

You can also use some old athletic socks wrapped around a cut off 2x4 and do the same thing. It is amazing the difference in sanding speed, no dust, and smooth walls. You have to be mindfull not to soak the wall (the natural clean paper portion of the open drywall), but to work it nice easy and smooth.

I have actually considered getting truck bed liner spray in a large quantity in white, and blasting my house garage walls so that it would be smooth, textured, and water proof.

Looks great!

Don't know what to do with that engine?

How about mounting it inside a clear plexiglass box, and use it as a table of some sort. That would be cool.
Then the decor has already started. Anything removed over the years from the Vette then can be cleaned up, and mounted on the wall.
Very Retro, and Martha Stewart would be proud.

69MW-Thanks for the tips on the sanding. That is what is so great about this form. No matter what you are doing someone here can help!

Craig, Hadn't thought about using it as a table. Would make a great Bar for a wet bar! A friend of mine wants to build a stand and set it up so we can start it and run it out of the car.

SSCAM69, I'm in the process of getting the cross-flags (Like on the hood) blown up to use as a pattern to paint on the side wall you see in the picture.

I have the room set up with AC and heat. Do I need a de-humidifier???
