After siphoning the remaining portion of fuel (about 2 gals.) this AM
and letting it sit for about an hour, it didn't appear to look any way out
of the ordinary. It looked like 100% fuel—clear & clean. I poured it
back & added $15.00 of Chevron. The thing is, it starts right up every
time. Then the noticeable miss during idle and the hard-flat spots and cutting back upon acceleration. So what's next, fuel filter, injectors or the dreaded opti-plugs & wires. I'm starting to get a littled pissed. HELP!:mad

My philosophy

When I have a problem like yours I start with the cheapest things first and work my way up to the real solution somewhere between cheap and a mortgage on the house to fix the car. If I were you I would start with the EGR and give it a good cleaning with easy off oven cleaner to remove any carbon that might be stuck in the pintle seat.(There are several post here on how to do that job.) If the problem persists then it might be to your advantage to have a diagnostic done on the opti. A good shop can tell if the opti is causing your problem and the fee for the test is a whole lot cheaper then just throwing parts at it until it is fixed or you again have to float another loan to keep on guessing.

Finally keep us in the loop because even the things I have suggested may not reveal the real source of your problem and you will need to lean on this group to keep up your spirits.:beer ( I have a torn rotor so you will have to lift my spirits for me.:boogie)
