This all being said, there’s no doubt that Barrett-Jackson “jumped the shark” this year. Unlike when Fonzi did it, this story has Craig Jackson driving his allegedly shill-bid Hemicudas over the tank and down a ramp that could lead to six years in a minimum security prison-issued orange jumpsuit.
I personally have looked forward to this event each and every year, and have always watched the re-runs whenever they were on. I don't know what it was about this year, but even I was able to sense that something wasn't quite right from the confines of my living room.
I don't know how many times I asked myself why the gavel went down when the bidding was still active - it had ph*cking "fix" written all over it this year. It was absolute bullsh*t, and it not only p*ssed me off, it turned me off. If a mopar wasn't selling for what they thought it should, and they'd put Gaylen on the mic to tell everyone what they were missing - and the poor slob that had the car bought at a reasonable price (if you call $200K reasonable) was then blasted out of the water.
The only thing good about the auction was the fact that a LOT of vettes were bought way under value IMO. For some reason they were slamming down the value very quickly on vettes that should have went for a LOT more.....'course, as someone pointed out earlier, Craig was trying to inflate the price on his Mopars.....and I have nothing against Mopars - I love 'em.
"PUI" Oh No!!!!!!!!!(Posting Under the Influance) I've been Busted for that!!!otfl otflReplies like this are the reason I try not to post after I've had a few too many. We went out last night, and had to wait (at the bar of course) 1.5 hours to be seated at the restaurant! Sorry 'bout that.
