Well finally after three years ...the 63 restro is coming to a close (for now) next week. The car is back together and runs like a top...currently waiting for a few items from Paragon...before I put the rear fascia back need to install the two heat insulators (those top hat things without the top of the hat) around the rear exhaust pipes near the exhaust bezals...had to order them from Paragon. And need to install the flat springs (chatter springs) on the rear brake drums...Paragon ran out of them and had to wait for the new order to arrive.

The suspension came out beautiful, car is aligned, engine is fully tuned and pures like a kitten. Best thing I ever did was got the motor redone correctly. I love the lob and the sound of the solids...

New oil change. I just got my WONDERBAR radio back from the repair shop and it looks brand new...so since I have the glove box out alredy, I will take out the AM/FM Stock radio and replace it with the correct AM Wonderbar.

Fixed a few other pesky items, the fuel sender had to be replaced and the little light in the glove box was not coming on...all fixed today. I got a recondition set of rocker panels...I will be removing the repros and putting on a set of OEM that are in great shape...so that the last big thing to do before SHOWTIME...

Every else is just about ready to go...so once I get the parts, it will be ready to come home.

Its been a very long long long haul, but the results are remarkable, and I will be at Carlisle with the 63 this year finally. I hope to meet all of you there who have been following my saga....who knows maybe I will write a book like and updated version of the Susie Q...

I will post photos on the day it comes home....:D Ironically the weekend of the 30th there is a VERY LARGE CRUISE night the next town over, every year many NCRS cars show up....finally the first time I show it, it will be the next town over...is that too cool or what.....

BTW...for all you Northern Virginia people...and Maryland or West Virgina, the cruise I am talking about is the PURCELLVILLE THUNDER CRUISE....being held at the high school....check it out

A HUGE congrats Collin. I know after waiting all that time that you can't wait. You will feel like a little kid on xmas morning :)

geez, between your car, Larry's, Bob's, John M's and SOOOOO many other peoples cars on here that even with my new paint I think I'm going to be embarrassed to even have my car on the same field as you guys.
(now I have to find out why my car decided to stall on me in the middle of the road on my way home today and barely wanted to restart before I risk the drive out to Carlisle)

Come on Barry...your car is top notch....its simply beautiful....can't wait to meet you and see it....thanks for your kind words during this whole time...truely a friend.

Collin, if nothing else i am honest about my car. it's a very nice driver but nothing like yours done up full NCRS standards or the incredible workmanship of the custom restro-mod cars being built on here.
There are more areas of my car that need attention that I care to admit to. The bodyoff that was done before I bought it was not done very well in a lot of areas and I'm slowly redoing them one at a time. This paint job was just the most major of things I needed to do but the list is longer than I like to see but over the years as money allows they will get done.

You know, Carlisle this year will be great - 70% of the reason i'm going this year is to meet everyone from HERE! oh, and see their cars too of course :D

Collin again congrats with the car.I hope you remember how to drive it

Barry
fear not your car will wow anybody who sees it whith those perfect door gaps. I am not making excuses for my car,but just remember mine was built by a simple back yard mecanic with No paitnenece. I will be there with it,
it may not have
a hood,
a top,
seat covers on the seats
working A/C
A properley installed exchaust system.

But it looks like Ill be there with the car.

yeah Larry, I've seen the pics what you as a "simple backyard mechanic" have done. Same as so many others on here (not even going to try to list names as there are so many). The work and quality of craftmanship you (and the others) have put into your cars makes most of the "professional" car guys lower their heads in shame. I love my car and overall am pretty happy with it but it's not in the same league as yours or so many others. I can easily live with that though - it's still my dream car I've always wanted and it's a driver - not a trailer queen so there will always be some flaws.

I can't wait to see your beauty, and Collin's car, and so many of the others from here at Carlisle. :beer

Collin, can't wait to see that "Best of Show" trophy from your first show! :)

Collin, great looking car!

Between you, Barry, Paul, and Heaven I am definitely getting jealous!
