Well finally after three years ...the 63 restro is coming to a close (for now) next week. The car is back together and runs like a top...currently waiting for a few items from Paragon...before I put the rear fascia back need to install the two heat insulators (those top hat things without the top of the hat) around the rear exhaust pipes near the exhaust bezals...had to order them from Paragon. And need to install the flat springs (chatter springs) on the rear brake drums...Paragon ran out of them and had to wait for the new order to arrive.
The suspension came out beautiful, car is aligned, engine is fully tuned and pures like a kitten. Best thing I ever did was got the motor redone correctly. I love the lob and the sound of the solids...
New oil change. I just got my WONDERBAR radio back from the repair shop and it looks brand new...so since I have the glove box out alredy, I will take out the AM/FM Stock radio and replace it with the correct AM Wonderbar.
Fixed a few other pesky items, the fuel sender had to be replaced and the little light in the glove box was not coming on...all fixed today. I got a recondition set of rocker panels...I will be removing the repros and putting on a set of OEM that are in great shape...so that the last big thing to do before SHOWTIME...
Every else is just about ready to go...so once I get the parts, it will be ready to come home.
Its been a very long long long haul, but the results are remarkable, and I will be at Carlisle with the 63 this year finally. I hope to meet all of you there who have been following my saga....who knows maybe I will write a book like and updated version of the Susie Q...
I will post photos on the day it comes home....
Ironically the weekend of the 30th there is a VERY LARGE CRUISE night the next town over, every year many NCRS cars show up....finally the first time I show it, it will be the next town over...is that too cool or what.....
BTW...for all you Northern Virginia people...and Maryland or West Virgina, the cruise I am talking about is the PURCELLVILLE THUNDER CRUISE....being held at the high school....check it out
