I have read this in a good few threads, so I now must ask if this is so common a problem is there a link here on the boards to a GM bulletin which addresses it. I would like to read the bulletin or any other link.

Well in an oft-handed method that is what I am trying to determine as I believe I have seen it in C5 threads.

I would just like to get to the root of where this message is from and to what exactly it pertains too.

Do I need Myth-Busters to test it, is it an urban legion, skuttle-butt, rumor, idle gossip, yada,yada etc, etc.

Just who recommends this?

It's a C6 issue. Not C5.
I can't tell you where you think you saw the C5 reference ;-}}.

I agree it's not c-5. Are you having problems ?

C5s have had problems with the factory batteries (including the upgraded AGM battery,) but it has nothing to do with not being in reverse. That's strictly a C6 05 model year problem.
