I acquired an 88 coupe and first problem is battery goes dead in about 2 days. I checked the battery and charged it fully then put a test light between the negative post and the negative cable. The light stayed lit while a pulled each and every fuse from the fuse panel on the passenger side of the dash. looking to isolate the short. Are there any fuses or circuit breakers other than the panel on the right side of the dash.?
I noticed while reconnecting the ground cable I hear a faint click coming from the drivers side headlight motor. The motor doesn't run or move , it just makes a click? The headlights work properly so I don't think there is a problem with the motor.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

You need to measure the current when looking for a battery drain. Checking with a test light won't tell you much. Be aware there are some things that are always on so a low current is expected. (You do have something draining battery more than it should however)
not totally familiar with the c4 so can't say if the click from the headlight is normal.

I have a '90 so I bet they are very close. There is a small 4 fuse, fuse holder under the passenger side lower panel(bolster). It's a pain in the a$$ to get to. Also there are about 5 fusable links coming off of the junction behind the battery. You will need to remove the side battery access panel to get to them.

First before you do anything more, make sure the underhood lights go out when closing the hood. They are on mercury switches and have been known to go bad and keep the lights on when the hood is closed.

I've also had a sticky brake light switch keep my brake lights on too. Overnight, that'll kill a battery if you don't notice it..

You will always detect a minor current draw because of the memory for the stereo and the HVAC system(if equipped with auto climate control). But it is very minimal and won't kill the battery in a couple days.

Keep us posted.

Maybe you have a shorted wire or the temp sensor is broken.
But yeah, measuring the current first its the way to go.
