The battery in my "76" is draining. I pulled all the courtesy light bulbs but the problem continues. It appears to be a rather significant drain as a .2 amp trickle charger cant keep up. Anyone have any similiar problems?

I had the same problem, sad to say I did not fix it my shop guy did, but he told me it was the alarm system. There is a relay in the alarm system that was shorted providing a ground that was draining the battery all the time. He just unpulgged the alarm and everything is fine. I don't know exactly which wire he unplugged.

Thanks...........Do you know where this relay is?

Sad to say I don't, I did not pay much attention when the mech told me, but I can find out if you don't have wiring diagram, I will look it up tonight and let you know.

I had a similar problem on my 80. It ended up being the cigarete lighter. Pull it out put a new one in and it was fixed. I was thinking it was the rust accumilation creating a circuit.
