Some of you may remember the on and off problem with my wife's 2000. Twice in the last year, the battery just went stone dead. The second time, I charged it up, drove to autozone, yanked it and tested it. Well...it tested fine, so I slapped it back in and went for a bad ground hunt. C4C5 was GREAT about providing a quick diagram to the main grounds.
Well, I thought I had it cured. Then, it died, or...mostly died and I had to push it off. Thank God for a manual trans!
Lucky7's81 - Kurt, was kind enough to drive it in to work for me after that. Of course....it started right up and was working fine. He ran several tests on it for me. The first time he checked the battery, it said--battery ok, however, charge and retest. So, he did. Low and behold, it finally registered...bad.
He suggested I upgrade to the 04 top post. I think that is a great idea. He even showed me one on the lot.
Well, I needed to do something quick. I am also aware of the battery acid leak problems on the vacuum lines and computer below the battery.
I went to Autozone and got a Gel/Optima. Slapped it in there. so far so good. The car spins over fast and strong.
Thanks Kurt!!!!!!! There is nothing worse than having to worry about the reliability of your wife's transportation. I think the problem is licked now.
