Howdy,
The Big Bend Open Road Race "Unlimited" class was won by a Corvette this weekend. A modified 2002 Corvette driven by Tom Wahlen averaged 165.888 MPH to take the top spot. Second was a 1969 Ford GT 40.
In the speed "trap" where the Unlimited get to show off top speed, there were 2 cars above 200, the GT40 hit just over 202 while a 1965 Corvair recorded 209.8 MPH. Didn't finish however.
Corvette make up the majority of cars entered in Open Road Racing - best bang for the buck!
A friend towed his new 2010 ZR1 out behind his RV with the paper dealer tag still attached and finished 2nd in the 145 class behind a race prepared Audi R8.
We drove our new CTS V this year just to see how it would do. Finished 5th in the 110 MPH class.
