I know that the topic of electric fans has been hashed to death but I can't find the information that I need. I have done a search here and still can not find the info. I am thinking of putting an electric fan on the front of my radiator (pusher) to supplement the stock fan. I plan to install a manual on/off switch in the cockpit and only use the fan with the a/c or in heavy stop and go traffic. I have a contact at a salvage yard and want to take advantage of that. There was a posting that I read that listed several electric fans that would fit the C3's from 80's and 90's models easily found in wrecking yards. I can't find this info. My question is this what cars are these and is there any problem putting them on the front of the radiator? I plan on looking for them tomorrow.
Thanks

Andy

A "pusher" fan doesn't do much good (especially on an A/C car), as it blocks airflow into the condenser and then through the radiator. If you have an overheating problem, you're better off to fix the real root cause (radiator, shroud and seals, fan, clutch, air dam, etc.) than to waste money throwing band-aids at it.

I have both a pusher and a pull electric fans on my motor. I run 2 16 inch tornado fans. Use a relay for the fan, not a switch. The switch is to activate the relay, a 30 amp relay is under $5.00 and is made to handle power.
The problem you run into putting a fan in front, or at least a big one is when the hood is opened it hits the fan.

This is a shot of the pusher fan.
