1991 ZO7 coupe, 6 speed,red on red w/most options!
hi there guys,

just wanted some opiouns on what would look the best color to paint my 1991 corvette coupe?
at the moment it is bright red!
red is a very common color though!
but red looks very sexy i must admit!
i like the idea od a different/rare color to make the car stand out even more than it does sounds good though!
and i have to tell you friends that the corvette here in australia gets so many looks from girls and guys than i would of ever imagined!
i love the attention!
i was thinking may be bright lemon yellow, may be midnight black!
or respray a fresh respray red again!
what do you guys/girls think anyway, which color?
thanks heaps for your time!!

A color change will De-Value it!! Paint back the orig.Factory Color!!! There is not anything Sexy'r than a Big Boobed Blond in a RED Corvette!!!! Go Find the Blond!!:upthumbs junk!!

To change a car's color is the "Kiss of Death"! Keep it the color it was born with. All corvettes are red.....so they say. My honest opinion...:upthumbs

i have to agree with the other even if red is not the state ment for me. my vette is black but it came that way. but hey if your single and the chicks over like it why change it?? oh don't go yellow!!

sorry, but I have to disagree. Paint the car any color YOU LIKE and enjoy the car as much as you can. don't worry about resale values unless you only plan on having the car for a very short time. Even than, if I was a buyer i'd prefer a car with a very nice paint job of any color rather than the stock factory color that is old, worn out, and needing repaint.

Besides that, and I apologize in agvance if I offend any C4 owner because that is not my intent at all, and I happen to like C4's a lot myself (will be looking for one to add to my C2 for the wife as soon as the budget allows) but C4's are not pricey "collector" cars with a few exceptions such as the ZR1's. Changing the color on a C1, C2, or early chrome bumper C3 WILL greatly affect the value and re-sale price significantly. It may affect C4's also but to a much smaller degree. Based on that I'd paint it whatever makes you happy. It's your car, the title is in yours name (I assume), so go with whatever color you like and get that big-boobed blonde and go have some fun.

I would say to paint it whatever color you like, but it should also match the interior. If you have a red interior, um, I think yellow is out. Good luck!!

My humble opinion is paint it your favorite color, unless it is a rare, valuable car worth preserving as original. For me, purple was the way to go. My '74 was mostly a basket case, so I even had the opportunity to change the interior color (probably not on option in your case). I went from white with oxblood red interior to Chrysler Plum Krazy Purple with a black and gray interior. Even after 12 years and many rock chips/road rash, I still receive many compliments a year on the color. Were I to do it again, it would remain purple, but perhaps a couple shades deeper and richer. Dare to be different!

I AGREE!!! paint it any color that makes you happy. it's not like 91's are so rare that changing the color on one of them will screw up the breed. so many people have this ncrs/bloomington mentality that they won't change anything. i knew a guy with a 69 coupe that was almost driving around in an unsafe car because he wouldn't change/repair basic maintenance items because of "originallity". as far as resale value, sit and think of exactly how much it will effect resale - a couple thousand, if that - ??? what's your happiness worth? if its a driver type 91, most people will be concerned about the condition of the paint vs the original color. the only things to remember is to get a quality paint job, make sure the color complements the interior color, no weird colors (like ricer green), and a color change will cost you more $$$ to paint (door/body jams, hinge pillars, detail items, etc.). you didn't mention what color interior you have, so i really cant give you any suggestions. i like black with red interior, (although black is not a color, it's a career), bright silver with black interior, dark blues with tan or saddle interior, and yes i do like red on red. REMEMBER, THE WORLD ONLY NEEDS SO MANY MUSEUM PIECES!:beer

BTW, i coined the phrase, "ya can't swing a dead cat at a car show without hitting a RED corvette" ......lighten up, it's a joke!

Little red corvette, Baby you're much too fast!
You can't go wrong with red!
But I agree with painting it what you're happy with. I jut got my 87 painted last month and tinkered with the idea of changing colors, but I kept it original, not for resale purposes, but because I like the color black on a car. gives it the intimidator look.
So give a thought of coming to the dark side!!!! and paint it black;)
