I am considering having a shift kit installed in my 77. It has a THM350 that is in good condition, but the the shift is quite lackluster. I would like to have a firmer shift, but I don't want a neck jerker. I want it to shift like a Corvette, not a station wagon. I have heard that just replacing the fluid with type F would help, but I need to know for sure, and I want to do it right. This is just for street use, and not for drag racing. Any input would be very helpful.
