I did my entire interior with materials from B-Quiet
http://www.b-quiet.com/ last year. It was considerably cheaper than Dynamat. At the time, their leading product was called "Brown Bread". It has been replaced with a newer product named B-Quiet Extreme. Neither are asphalt based. No odor.
I stripped the interior down to bare fiberglass and metal. Removed the old insulation including the mat on the firewall. I did a total interior restoration which included the B-Quiet deadener materials. I'm extremely happy with the results.
I used VComp and LComp, also from B-Quiet, on some areas of the firewall, floor, rear compartment, and console. For the firewall pieces, I created templates from cardboard then cut small pieces of deadener to glue
on the firewall using 3m spray adhesive.
Only one hitch. I covered the inside of the door. The new Corvette America door panels wouldn't fit because of the extra thickness even though it's about 1mm. I had to scrape it off. Not a lot fun.
There are some pictures (not very well organized at this time) of the restoration on my website at

The rest of the car is progressing nicely too. Should be done in 2 months.
