Hello all! Let me introduce myself. My name is Josh, and I've been lurking around here for a little over half a year. It's great to see so many enthusiastic and friendly people in one place! Anyway, I have been looking into purchasing a C5 for the past 3 or 4 years. I have always looked into used vehicles, as I thought they were the superior buy, however, I have also been closely monitoring Kerbeck's pricing on new. (I have found a few local dealers selling used 2004 C5 CE's already at $2000 above Kerbeck's price on brand new.)

Anyway, I feel like now is The Time to buy. "too good to be true" comes to mind.

The Question Is:

What is the best time to go for it?

Right now as we are in the midst of winter?
Or rather, once we hit spring and Summer and the model year comes to a close?

Please help. I thought this would be a good time to ask since Kerbeck is on our minds....

Best Time to Buy

Typically, the best time to buy any new car is between Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years. This is when business at most auto dealership is the "flattest". Of course this assumes that there are no incentives such as finance, rebates, etc. forthcoming. If Corvette sales for the 2004 begin to wane for the first part of 2004, GM may reinstitute 0% financing, and this is a great incentive for prospective buyers. Good luck with your future purchase !

There are many new 2004 Corvettes available. You can basically name your price here in the north east (north Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess counties NY and the western CT area.). Some cars have been sitting for months. With the snow storm and the holidays coming it is a great time to buy. The F&I (finance and Warranty) guys are hungry too so you can haggle on the extended warranty price too. They'll probably throw in the fisrt service too.
There is a Commemorative model availible (M & S OF PAWLING,NY) but that one may cost you a bit more $.

Do a vehicle search.

As of last notice, December 29, Kerbeck was offering 16% off NEW 2004 Coupes and Convertibles. (that equates to $8000 off a $50000 car)

It sounds great, but I have a feeling things will get even better. The C6 has some holding off for now I'm sure. There are dealers in the US that have over 100 2004 Corvettes on thier lots to start out he new year.

Hold out a little.

I bought my Corvette from Kerbeck in Sept 2001 and it was a very nice, money saving and pleasant experience. They are tops.
Ask for Mike Belino if you go.

Best Time to Buy

On Dec 24, I purchased an 04 Millenium Yellow Coupe from Kerbeck (thank you, Santa).

MSRP was $48,940, I paid $41,110, which is 16% off list. They seemed straightforward and honest. No complications.

I couldn't see waiting for a C6. When they come out the MSRP will be higher and there will be no discounts... I figure that an equally equipped 2005 will cost $10,000 more.

But the most important piece of information about this transaction is that I LOVE driving this car!
