Big Block Swap

My SBC is in dire need of a major overhaul, and will cost thousands to fix. I've wanted to replace this with a 454 or 427 - so this can actually be an opportune time to make this transition. I've seen quite a few BBCs being sold that in Suburbans. Will those engines fit in a 69 Vette?... and what is a "tall block" --- is it a truck engine?

If I recall correctly, he acquired a total wreck Suburban and made its 454 swap into his 70 coupe ... Len did the work himself and posted his progress here many times.

AFAIK, all tall decks are truck motors but NOT all truck motors are tall decks. Tall decks only OE in HEAVY trucks. Suburban is not a tall deck.

Thank you Jack. I am indeed familair with Len's posts (awesome). I did forget that he used a Suburban engine. That's encouraging.
