Hello all, I've got a VERY big problem. I just rebuilt my engine and am having some issues. The car will start up fine (1985 L98) but after idling a short amount of time it's clear to see there's a BIG problem. The driver's side exhaust manifold gets RED hot,the other side not as bad but the first pipe isn't even getting no where near the temp. of the others. The heat paint is still on the pass.side very front pipe, while the rest of the manifold pipes have the paint baked off.So I'm obviously having a problem w/that cylinder.I have all new plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Anyone with some advice is greatly appreiciated.

check the firing order then check your plugs then check your plug wires you could have a wire backward this problem ive had i took it to a tech and he corrected the plug wire was 7 and 5 were on tyhe wrong plug.

I had a similar problem briefly when I put my car back together. My timing was way off. Welcome to :CAC :w

I agree either some wires are crossed or the timing is retarded . Worst thing that it could be is that the cam shaft is not timed correctly.
