I have a black exterior- grey carpet 87 coupe. The carpet inside is getting pretty ratty and I need to replace it soon. I think the grey doesn't do the car justice. Just too plain. Do any of you vette owners have black cars with red or blue interiors/carpets? I really would like to see some pics to get an idea of what would look the best. I think it needs more contrast but don't want the car to look foolish.

Please, anyone post pics if you have them.
thanks,
shane

That's a tough one!

The black interior is the natural choice but in the summer you will be driving around in an oven.

If l was in your shoes l would get a red or even better a beige carpet.

But that is my two cents.

I have an all black 92 . the Carpet does not make it HOT it is the Black body that makes it hot + the sun roof, just turn up the AC!

it's a tough call. i'm in florida. hot no matter what. i plan on keeping the exterior black for a while ($$$). I just want the inside to look better. just looking for ideas.

Black and red is good

I'd go with the red. I don't have any pics but black w/red int. is one of those combos that looks good on any car.

you have graphite seats don't you. I would say that the black might throw off the rest of the interior, with all the grey trim. However, the red might look pretty good.

My vote is Torch Red interior! You won't be sorry!! The interior will be spectacular...go for it!:D

Graphite seats ? I would go black, will set off the grey and charcoal nicely .:)

Yeah I would definetly change it to black.

Go with red! Here are a couple pictures of my '96 Black over red:

This is not exactly what you requested but at least it gives you some idea of the contrast of having red carpeting and a black seat.... Personally I like the look.

black on red!

I think the black on red looks awesome! The only draw back is i do have the grey seats. But I think seat covers can take care of that. the red and black really looks sharp.
thanks for everybody's input.

Having a tri-color interior sounds cool too. Red carpet, grey doors and arm rest and black seats, very Sci-Fi.

Red seats, for sure. New leather and foam will amaze you at how comfy they were. U can do it yourself.

Black carpet and window film to cut summer heat.

Another vote for red.:_rock From another tampa bay local- Palm Harbor.
I hope you keep it in the garage, I know how HOT our cars get sitti'n in the sun down here!

unfortunately I have no garage. i search for the biggest tree i can find with the most shade.

but i think after looking at some of the posts i am going with red. ettevroc's pic is what i am looking for. very sharp with the red interior with black/red seat covers. With my black exterior i think it will be bad a**.
