Hi

I have been putting it off for almost a year and l decided to do it the week after next.

I had the directions that were easy to follow and numbered but l can't seem to find them.

Where can l find the best directions and do l really have to disconnect the neg battery terminal.

Thanks

Alan

I put one in last weekend. Took me about 5mins w/o directions. Its very easy to do.

Time??????????

What l really meant was it was about time l put it in!

What l was looking for was a set of directions that l once had the showed you everything in detail and it had arrows on the pics showing what had to be done.

For some reason l can do everything around the house from soup to nuts and when it comes to my cars l'm mentally challenged!

Did you disconnect the battery?

Thanks

Alan

I didn't. I just pulled of the OEM housing, plugged in the 1" rubber hose and used the supplied silicone adapter to attach it to my TB.

Fired up the car and drove around. No codes, no problems.

It's so easy a...

Famous Last Words

Heh, heh, it took me more than 5 minutes to get the factory airbox off those little pins it's attached to.

It took me another 5 minutes to get that damned little electrical connector apart so I COULD remove the air bridge and airbox assy.

I took me 25 more minutes fiddling around with the coupler to get it to fit properly, so that when the hood was down the top of the airbridge would not rub a hole in the hood liner.

Be glad that you don't have the directions, as IMHO, they were essentially worthless in aiding in its installation.

But once you do manage to get the thing put on and all buttoned up..(make damned sure there are NO air leaks, as I guarantee the motor will "ping" on load), don't get too disappointed if you don't feel any of that "seat of the pants" difference in throttle response and acceleration, that so many over-exhuberant Vette owners are known to brag about.

Just be satisfied that it DOES at least look a helluva lot better than that nasty-looking factory airbox that you took off.
;LOL

I have had my air box and bridge out a few times prior so I knew the ropes. I'm sure that saved me some time. I cant say that I felt much in the SOTP either but you sure can hear it sucking in air now. I'm sure glad I didnt have to pay full price for it but for what I paid I would do it again.

Yep! I did omit that part, didn't I?.....you will hear a much "throatier" intake sound...almost but not quite, like that wonderful sound of a big 4barrel carburetor, when those monster secondaries open up.

I guess that's what some of these guys think is that SOTP feeling. If it SOUNDS louder it's just gotta be faster.

Same thing with these characters that put on an overpriced Corsa catback and swear up and down that the Vette is accelerating faster than it did before.

It's good to know that at least a couple of us live in the "real world".:rotfl
