Has anyone use the Blackwing Shroud (part #21112) from SLP. Some say not to use for 2001 or newer. If you used it please let me know how it worked. Thanks
 
Word around the campfire is that they cause surging. Don't recall a real good explaination why, but these stories are widespread.

I have used the cover for several years now with no problems. I'm not sure why some cars have the surging and some don't. After my cam swap the other day I left the cover off and had huge problems with surging so I put the cover back on. This probably occurred because I had no cover, with a big hole in the radiator shroud underneath the blackwing. Surging is exactly what is sounds like.....when driving down the highway you can feel the motor slightly speed up and then slow down.....its feels similar to driving in very heavy winds....you can just detect a speed up slow down of the car.
