Blinker Sound

I have a 92 Coupe with about 80,000 miles on it. Just recently when I start it there is a sound under the dash that sounds like a blinker. I have checked the blinkers and the four way flash and they all work fine. After driving for about 30 seconds the blinking noise stops. The car runs fine. It also makes this noise if you just turn on the key, without starting the engine. Does anybody have any ideas what this might be?

I had a similar situation with a '98 Chev. Pick-up. At first it only did it once in a while. But over time got worse. Wiggling the turn signal level sometimes would make the clicking stop.
Ended up being the whole turn signal/cruise control assembly. $300.00 for the part and 300.00 to install.
