I know this has been answered about a zillion times, but,
Where are the engine numbers located?
On the block, or head? Front or back? Up high or down low?
Looked everywhere in front & no numbers anywhere :hb

Please help for old times sake. gary. THANKS!

Gary:
Stand near front of passenger front wheel ... look at front of passenger head. Just where head and block mates is a flat pad about 1/2" x 4" that extends from front of block ... in same plane as the block-head mating surface (aka deck). The numbers are stamped into this pad. The pad may be obscured by your AC compressor. Often, if the block's deck has been milled/resurfaced during a rebuild ... the machining process grinds away the numbers and the pad is left blank. Decks are routinely milled 0.010" - 0.020" ... enough to erase the stamped numbers.
