I have decided to set up a blower on my L82, or at least look deep into it. I have about 9:1 compression ... i know its best not to have too high compression before forcing air in....can anyone help me out with tips, stories, precautions, predetonation, pictures, other things i MUST get....
I am new to the whole forced induction stuff, i have been reading a lot about Weiand products, and I heard good things.
Thanks in advance, Kev

You need to reduce the CR some more if you want to be able to take full advantage of the SC. Also, you'll need new pistons anyway (yours are hypereutectic), the block needs to be decked and a gasket combo selected to get the quench tight to control detonation, otherwise it will detonate like crazy at high boost levels, even if the CR is brought down. Quench induced turbulence is critical to detonation control, especially on high output engines. With GM's 9,025 (approx) deck height and a gasket of even .010 and the piston being a tad down the hole (not at 9.000 TDC) you'll have a quench height of 0,035 minimum and that's not near tight enough.

Just slapping on a SC will not work.
