Hey guys, it is now time to install the body back on my '74 coupe. Is there anything I need that is not obvious? Rubber or Poly? Who has the best kit? Not price but quality. Thanks for any info?

Peace Bud :cool

Hey Mikey, what is this feature? Also do you know if all service and assembly manuals are the same no matter who you buy them from?

Prior to '73 the body mounts were solid metal. GM added rubber mounts in '73 to dampen road vibration transmitted to the body and occupants.

Putting poly mounts instead of rubber is a step backwards.

Can't comment on all service and assembly manuals, I use either the original GM issue or an AIM. Chiltons and Haynes are a poor substitute IMHO.

Thanks Mikey, I'm looking for assembly and service manuals. Reproductions are probably ok. Mid American has them. I just don't want to spend 119.00 for something I don't need. I'm looking for a manual that shows how different body parts are attached/suspension setups.

The 1974 Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual is $35.00, and the 1974 Corvette Assembly Instruction Manual is $20.00. Between the two of them, just about everything is covered. The NCRS on-line store at www.ncrs.org has both of them.
