I want to replace all of the body mount bolts and mounts on my C3. All of the bolts are rusted to where they will turn when I try to loosen them. Since there seem to be no way to get at the top of the bolt, do most people cut a small hole to hold the bolt from turning or is there another way?

Thanks,

welcome to the jungle jm74 :D.you need to raise the body slightly. a sawz-all with a long thin blade will allow you to cut those bolts. then you can lift the body a bit more to get enough room to cut into the housings for those square nuts. replace, then some welding etc.... oh, the front frame mounts have a metal top bracket that pop rivets to the body. those are probably shot also. changing mounts only is a mess cause you have to loosen the rad support, rear bumpers etc... it's like doin a half-butt frame-off. you can leave the shifter in and loosen the column from the inside if you want. other people will add to the list i'm sure. if you get bored, paint the top of the frame and the metal c rails on the body while you're at it. and like tape a note to the top of the frame so the next guy can feel your pain.

I used a dremmel and the fibre reinforced cutting disk. I cut the head off. I took a pack of the reinforced disk and I had to make a bunch of cuts and break them off with a hammer and punch. I had to do 4 of them this way

Thanks.... sounds like it's going to be a long weekend.
