Had an electrical power loss in my car. Traced it back to the body plugs to the fuse box on my firewall. Cleaned it up and now all is well. I love this old car. Everything is so simple. I notice the body plug connection cavitys are dry. It seems to me that they should be full of dielectric grease. Is that true?

They weren't originally, but the factory started filling them with brown dielectric grease in the mid-70's to stop the moisture-related corrosion inside the multiple-cavity connectors. Radio Shack sells dielectric grease - smear it on all the terminals and re-connect them, and you'll probably never have to touch them again. This is a VERY common cause of many Corvette electrical problems, especially at the terminals for the main red power feed wire to the ignition switch - they corrode, build up high resistance, that creates heat, and it melts the cavity in the plastic connector, the terminals separate, and you suddenly lose all power to the car.
