body work/paint codes?

ok i have to get some body work done to my front bumper and im worried about the paint matching up. the body shop called me today and said there are 7 different variations of torch red and they think they found one that matches up perfectly, but they want me to come in and look at it to make sure. so my question is.....do you think they will be able to match the color? and if there are 7 different variations of torch red is there a way i can find out which specific torch red is on my car? maybe through a build sheet. Look in the glove box. There is a sticker with the build codes.

70U is a option color code for Torch Red.

The actuual paint code is on the last line of the sticker. (In the picture below it is U 382E)

I hope the body shop is going by the paint code to get the paint, and not the paint name. A good shop should be able to get a perfect match.Good luck!!

Let me explain what they mean by variations.If youv been to the plant youll notice that they paint the cars in lots,lots of seven or so.The paint is used from 55 gal drums and although stirred while in use and while not being used.Regardless,pigments fall and there are also problems with humidity and temperature issues.All of this causes vaiations in color in the assembly line process.The first car painted torch red is going to be a shade different from the last.The painter just needs to find the closest match or blend into the next panel.Theres no harm in this,its just part of the job.
