Body work

I have a '99 Hardtop and I made the bad mistake of catching a parking lot curb just behind the passenger door. I've been slow taking care of this but it's in the plans for early this year. I had a quote from a dealership of about $600 to fix it 2 years ago. Yeah, I've been slow taking care of this. I'd like to put it out there for any do's and don't's before I look into having the work done. I live in the South Bay part of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Any advise?

I've had many similiar jobs done. Pretty straight forward, if they don't fix it correctly, make'em do it again till it's right.

Ask around where you live for the body shop with the best reputation. Go see some of their work and if you think it's acceptable, go for it, it shouldn't be a problem.
