I am currently doing some minor bodywork on my car. Have done some minor fiberglass repair (fixing minor cracks) and while I was looking at it afterward i noticed the bodyline between the body and the bumper covers. I think it would look nicer to get rid of this line by filling it before I get the car painted. My question is whether or not there is some way to properly fill this body line since the body is fiberglass and the bumper covers are urethane. If my bumper covers weren't in such good shape, I would replace them for the fiberglass repro version, but would rather not. I also plan to get a urethane front spoiler (pace car version) to put under the snout and would like to bond this to the car as well. If anyone has any suggestions on what products to use to do this well or if I should think twice about doing this, please let me know. Starting to enjoy the new toy and this will be about the last thing I need to get done before getting it painted.

Your only option is to replace the bumpers with fiberglass ones. Bolt them on with bonding adheasive, grind, and then fiberglass the seam.

You could use the Bubba way and fill it with paintable lifeseal, or some other kind of paintable calking... I say leave the seam, it gives vettes more personality.

I thought so, but needed the backup. Thanks for the info, will be keeping the seams since my urethane covers are in excellent condition so can't justify replacing them.

Thanks again,
mike
