Bose speaker relay

I know this is not a fun subject but...............is is possible that a faulty speaker relay could have different affects on different speakers? I have a 1985 coupe. Two of the speakers (front left and rear right) work fine. the other two work but have a static sound. I've changed the speakers and amps but there is no change. I even moved the "good" speakers to the bad locations and the sound is still there. I'd love to get this system working if possible. Right now I have the two bad speaker disconnected which works but really isn't they way it should be.

Static in a speaker is usually caused by stray harmonic frequencies getting into the system. They can easily enter thru the speaker wires. You might want to check your wires going to the bad speakers. More than likely one of them is near or resting on a device that is putting out some stray freq's....make sure your speaker wires aren't wraped up in a bundel with other wires and not cut or pinched. Hope this helps a little...

Hate to tell you, but it is most likely the wire. I had a similar problem. It is a real pain in the A$$ to remove and check the wire. It snakes all through the car, and is all wraped up in that black electrical tape with about 10 million other wires. Intead of messing with all that, I decided to lift the carpet and run all new wire. Works like a charm. So I'd give that a try before replacing expensive parts.

Thanks - The wiring is certainly an option. I think I'll try jumper wires from one side to the other in the rear and by pass the original wires That should prove it one way or the other
