Bose Speakers 89 Convertable/Coupe

I have a new set of rear speakers for an 89 Coupe. A friend as an 89 convertable. He needs new rear speakers. Question: The black plastic container the speakers and amp are in, are a little different shape for the coupe and convertable. Can the speakers and amps be removed from the coupe container and put into the container for the convertable?
