Both door panels not fully secure, WHY

Both door panels on my vette are not fully secure. The lower section of the door panels are screwed down. But the upper portion which should attach to the upper door frame is not properly attached. It appears that this part of the panel should hook around the frame near the area where the window slides out of the door. My panel appear to be bend slightly straight so the panel do not properly hook into place. I can somewhat snap it in, be once I slam the door the panel pops back out. This is happening on both doors. Is there something I do not know or do I need to drill some holes into the upper panel so I can screw the panel down to the upper frame of the door.
:cry

I have a scan from Vette magazine that addresses your problem. It shows where to place a fabricated lip on the top of your door frame. It's not very detailed, but will give you an idea of where to place the
support. My e-mail is roman67844@cs.com

I've had the same problem with mine and finally got tired of it and drilled some holes in the upper portion of the panel to hold it in place.

Let us know if the the lip rabbit mentions works or if you have to drill it.

I am interested in this too.... Same problem with mine though the driver's door is worse than the passenger side.

Rabbit, I sent you an email, requesting more

Yes, I sent you an email from my home and work account. Hopefully you can get this information to me.

Thanks;worship

I had the same problem with my 94 when I bought it a few weeks ago. One screw took care of the problem. Since my panels were black I bought some black interior screws from Auto Zone and put one in each panel in the upper part on the end about two inches down from the top. there is a metal piece there you can drill into so that it will be secure. What has happened to the panel is it has cracked along the top where it hooks over the lip. I can send you some pics of mine if you need to know exactly where to put the screw and what size. I can't take credit for this info. I got it from new member Huffer.

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem

BTDOG - Can you post your email or send me you pics @ local_solutions@hotmail.com. I'd love to see how you did this and how it looks.

My Driver side seems to be the loosest of the two as well..

:bash

Thanks

Trey.
