May be just a result of doing drywall today in the bathroom and inhaling too many fumes/powder but those new Corvettes do look nice. Anyone thought of selling a C1/C2 and getting a C6. Post first-year depreciation, of course. Just a thought, and just musing.

I like the new C6's a lot Paul - more than I like the C5's.
i'd love to have one in the garage next to Baby. And if we want to talk about the new Z06 than I'd DEFINATELY take one of those mosters

:beer

I like them also, but wouldn't sell my C2 to have one.

Pretty soon, they'll be a dime a dozen, just like C5s are right now.

I like driving something you don't see every day.

selling my 2001 Z06 when notified my 2006 Z06 is being built! can't wait!

just build a bigger garage and collect several of them....you only live once....life is too short not to be happy while you are here.....ENJOY!!!!

in 2008 when the ex wife is finally paid off.....perhaps a nice new C6 Z06???? Need to get that ex paid off....only 25 more months to go.....

I had the opportunity to drive an 02 Z06 last week. As a result of that experience, I have completely dropped the idea of getting a C5 or C6.

That thing was so bloody FAST, I scared the cr*p outta myself. At my age, I just don't think I could keep up with how quick those cars are. Things happen WAY too fast. 0-60 under 4 secs is just too much for me. Cool car otherwise.

Firstgear, you got that right

Long ago, I was told that the success of any individual is measured by the amount of toys he has been able to gather, the day he dies. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I am trying to collect as many toys as I can afford. Besides, at my age it's no longer my money anyway, it's my children's inheritance :D

So you say " life is too short not to be happy ", you had better believe it, because I have yet to find a " rewind " button, and you know what will happen to you when you reach the end of the tape,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,O shît

Paul

I know what you mean about these newer cars being so much faster and quicker than these older C1 and C2 cars we are used to.
last weekend Linda and I went to look at a '95 C4 she found that she liked. I took it out for a test spin and at one point I was cruising at about 45mph and decided i wanted to see what kind of acceleration the car had so I punched it to WOT. Believe me, I was NOT, repeat NOT, trying to see how fast the car would go but only see what the acceleration was like and to make sure it didn't want to bog down, it ran smooth and was stable, etc but after only a couple of seconds at WOT I looked down and was shocked to see the speedo reading at 142mph and she was still pulling very strong with a lot more to go. :eek Good thing the brakes were in good shape.
This was only a stock LT1 so I can't even imagine what that '02 Z06 was like, never mind the new '06 Z06. As you say, that must be downright scary fast.
It would be awesome to have a new Z06 but I can see myself getting into way too much trouble with a car like that.

I always wondered why you guys play with the older vettes.

Nice, new, all ready to go. Parts easy to find. Warranty. Turn the key and a way we go.... No tinkering. New is good. New is easy. New is fast.

Why not get a new vette?

BTW I know the answers. Old is good, It's special. Not many on the road. History. Still looks good.

So... I guess both are good choices.

ENJOY THE RIDE.

I will give you my 2cents.

NO I would never sell my C2 (1966) for a new C6.I just dont think I would ever ba able to afford to purchase another one.

But I would sell my 62 for one,Allthough my 62 drives like a new car,is more pleasurable and refined then my 66 i figure i could always build another car simular to the 62.

Now as for the new Z06 Boy I just have to have one of them I just have to figure out how to pay for it and where to keep it. We have a 2002 C5 now and was thinking of getting rid of to help pay for the Z06 but with the hit I am taking on the 02 it almost dosent make sence to sell it as its still almost new and well maintained.
And with a son who just turned 12 it really makes sence to keep the 02 in the family as he will be driving soon

My other choice to is bring the HP up on the o2 to make it a moster.

Some of you guys have heard me speak of how cool it must of been to be able to go into a show room in the 60s and purchase a full blown race car, All I am thinking with this Z06 is now is My chance. I just have to step up to the plate.

Time will tell on this, I definately dont need another car, My wife is telling me we dont need another car also but if we were going to get one she would definately prefer the Cadilac XLR of the Z06 that she would not be able to drive because its a stick.

My opinion

Well now, I'm not sure I agree completely with that. ;)

Barry, you got'ta watch what you say on fast cars, because I will have to agree with 67heaven on that one.

Some of our rides might just cause the doors on those newer cars to open towards the inside.

as i'm sure you are aware, I was mostly referring to STOCK older cars. When it comes to the modified and custom cars like Heaven, etc all bets are off!

We're just funnin' with ya, Barry. ;)

I believe we have the best of both worlds. The classic styling, and therefore the ownership of every eyeball on every street, combined with completely updated suspension and drive-line, etc.

It's no exaggeration to note that a C6 Z-06 would have been much, much cheaper. :rotfl
