I have read a shop manual and it descibes things but not always where to find.

1968 BB w/o power brakes... There is a wire attached to the master cylinder between brake lines. Is this my brake light switch? If not where is it?

Thanks

Believe that the brake light switch is under the dash up towards the top of the brake peddle. That wire on the master cylinder should be for the brake warning light.

Any one know the Best way to get to the break switch?
My shop manual is great if I need to torque a muffler clamp!

Under the dash? Can't see up high enough to the switch
Through the dash? Not sure if I want to go that route if wrong.

I know it is the switch...Everytime I press the break, my fuel gauge goes past full and release brings it back to fuel level.
None of my brake lights/rear turns/rear clearance lights work either. Nothing I have ever seen before.

Pull the drivers seat then on your back in the floorboard to see up under the dash. Would help if you have a friend with small hands that knows something about Vettes.
