Just got a used "99" coupe, with 25,000 miles. Not to happy
with having to replace pads and maybe the rotors. Should I use
the "ceramic" or dual (something) metallic? Need your help and any other suggestions.

Baer Touring pads work well for me. I just used them at a Performance driving school. They did great.

ok, only drawback is that they create more brake dust. Hey, they stop really well, I can deal with the dust.

Raybestos QS ceramics - they stop as well as OEM, much less dust on the wheels, & they are available anywhere (like Pep Boys).

Ceramics

Do Ceramics make more noise? I just have this squealing sound in my head with the thought of ceramic break material!

And I'm new to that technology.

I'm a newbie, of sorts, lurking getting tips for my purchase next year: a C5! Finally, my first Corvette!

"The thrill of the hunt", I remember spending a good 6 to 8 mos. looking for and finally finding my 97. Those were some exciting times. I fell in love with and just had to have a couple others before I got the one I have. They didn't go through for one reason or another. Oh boy I'm going to get that one....oh noooo..not that one. Yeah I'll get that one.......nooo not that one either. There were big ups and downs, but when I finally did one...I have been smiling ever since.

Sorry I didn't mean to hijack the thread.
I have the Bendix (what ever was listed as the oem part). I replaced all the pads and turned the rotors at about 100,000 mi. The rotors only had the tiniest lip to remove, and the OEM pads were about 30% worn.
I was well satisfied with the original parts wear.

"buying my first corvette stories"

It is quite alright, with me, to hijack a thread with stories of your first Corvette search.

Which forum do you think would be the best to post that question in?

Thanks for sharing, I know already that I'm going to have the same issues!!
