I have an 81 vette. My brake light is on and the pedal goes down a lot. The fluid is full. Has anyone had this problem or know what is causing it? Does the master cylinder cause this? Will bleeding fix this problem?

Sounds to me like you have an air leak in your brake lines/system. That would cause the excess "down" on your pedal. It might be at the caliper, but there are other places where you can have a leak, which causes air to get into the brake system. And that's what causes that, so I think that might be your problem.

Good luck!! :)

"white81": Sounds as if your rear calipers are pumping air into your system, caused by rotor run out. Either out of specs rotor or worn wheel bearings cause this problem of run out.
