broken hood latch cable

Hi guys! First time vette owner,finally. Problem is the hood release cable broke,so how can I get it open By the way its a 1971.Thanks in advance for any help!! Ben

This will not be easy and I sure someone will come on post a better answer. I have never had this problem but I understand you have to work you hand and a screwdrive down to the latch and manually release it, do this from the wiper tray. Not sure on a 71 but on my 76 its a real PIA. Good Luck

i had the same problem with my 1980 vette. the only way i know is to use a screwdriver like 76okievette said. The cables are fairly cheap ($20) to replace also.
