I dropped a box while trying to put it into the hatch and broke the latch that you slide forward to lock the top in place while it is stored in the rear hatch. I've looked through the usual catalogs and online stores, but I can't seem to figure out the part I need to replace. I can still slide the lock forward with a screwdriver, but that isn't going to fly.

Any thoughts?

I changed it several years ago. What I recall is that it is easy to replace and cheap. Just call the GM dealer. I broke it again a few month ago

I'm glad to hear that is was both easy and cheap - two words not commonly associated with a repair to my vette... :L

Thanks!

I picked one up from Eckler's of all places. $4.50 ... how's that for cheap.

Any chance you remember the part number? I looked through their catalog but didn't know what it was called.

I went to the dealer a lunch and ask for the part number for your 95. Here it is : 14049200.

They also gave me a print out. See enclosed below.
