I had another left side park, running, directional light burn out and have seen this on a number of other GM vehicles. The contacts were scorched and dark brown that would make me think there could be some extra heat in there or arcing. Just the contacts, no obvious damage to the plastic housing or bulb base.
Changed both at the same time to get a like color but didn't see any discoloration on the right side. It has always been the left side that burns out; the first was within a few months of delivery.
Just a side note, be sure to check your replacement bulbs they are different as day and night, pun intended. Some support the filament with two prongs and others use 3 and those can be of different lengths to add the effect of vibration while the element is hot.
