It's not uncommon for the plastic nose/tail caps to crack with age and there are a variety of new materials that you can buy to replace the factory parts. Ecklers, Mid America and many of the sponsors of this forum sell replacement parts - - you can get hard fiberglass to achieve a seamless appearance, or a couple different types of flexible factory-like products.
