buying a mid year

I am looking at buying a mid year convertible. They are all over the country. Is there a national organization of independent non biased corvette appraisers who can check out cars for me in the different areas? I also will be selling or trading in my 66 327/350 hp coupe and need to determine an accurate value for it as well.
