Just this morning the new owner of my beloved 81 left my home in Gonzales, La. on his return trek to Seattle Washington. If everyone here remebers me, I used this site daily for a while during the rebuild and would like to thank everyone for the help, guidance and advice over the last 3 years.
Also, the new owner (Rick) was introduced to this site last night by me, he will become a new member once he gets home. I hope everyone will assist Rick in the future if he needs help. He's really excited about the car and this site.
Me? - well, I'm looking for another baby but this time I'm looking for a 73 with a 4 speed. I DO NOT plan to go away from this site-its essential for a rebuild.
Thanks again to all the wonderful people and the help you guys/gals have given me in the recent past. I'll post my new baby when I find her.....

Mike,

It sounds like your meticulous effort and time spent on your '81 were well worth it, and the new owners sound worthy of your dedication ;)

Good luck on your search for that special 1974 :upthumbs You will be missed at the Registry, but we aslo look forward to documenting the new owner.. ;)

Best Wishes and enjoy the hunt ;)

Why do I hear 'Happy trails tooo youuu until we meet again'.
Don't think I could be as composed as you if I let my second love go.

What??/

John, I sold the car to generate the $$ for my baby girl's wedding. It will cover MOST of the cost of the wedding. At my home, family is more important than a car. I have lusted over a 4 speed 73 for some time now and this is the perfect opportunity to cash in, make a new owner happy and get tons of sympathy from the ladies in the family b/c they think the sole reason to sell the car is for the wedding. Yep, I'll have breakfast in bed for some time as well as "other" perks not mentionable here for my sacrifice. The end result is my baby is happy, my wife is happy, the new owner is happy, and I get to hunt for another love and sink another $25k+ into it.
By the way, I told the new owner if he tires of the 81, call me and I'll go fetch her back home............All the way from Seattle to Louisiana!
Its only been 8 hours and I'm going thru withdrawal.........

:cry :cry :cry

Was this the red one on ebay? Good luck in your search!

Yep, that was it. You guys really do pay attention, eh?
When the new owner saw it, he called and said "SOLD" , he had been looking for this car (color combo, new motor, fresh rebuild) for years and had held out till now. Guess it was one of those meant to be things. He flew in from Seattle after he had an independant inspector go thru the car (great reviews) and left out yesterday to make an 11 day trek back home doing some visiting and sight seeing along the way. Get this-he built a garage for the car 7 years ago and has been waiting since. I bought the car 4 years ago and did the rebuild. This was just a meant to be thing.
;)

Of course I pay attention when it comes to 81's! Mike I hope your daughter has a great wedding. Good luck in your search for another project

Correct

John, you're right. My wife reminds me daily that I dont understand her, the kids, my boss and sometimes my own heart. BUT NOW I do understand your post. I meant no harm, my apologies. Mike J.
