Ok I know I am a noob so please don't flame me to hard. Were would be the best place to splice the heater core hose to bypass it? Also which manuals are best I have ordered a shop manual and a chilton....do I need a haynes also? Thanks ....Rid

right at the fire wall on the passenger side. ya don't need to splice it. just pull off the two hoses off and insert the short piece plastic or metal tubing and use the same hose clamps. Easy fix to by-pass a leaky heater core and takes only 5 minutes.

I think one hose is 5/8" and the other is 3/4" so you'll need an adaptor to splice them.

I get all the manuals I can find. I like the haynes pics/draweings best, but I'll take all the help I can get.
There's also How To references in this BB that direct you to other sites with outstanding help.
