Just returned from a road trip to hot KY where I visited the GM plant and Corvette museum. While heading home I noticed my a/c condensor runoff was dumping water into the passenger floorboard. While trying to dry this out overnight with a large fan and then moving the car the next AM -I got the famous " steering column lock" on the DIC.I've never had the car towed into a dealer b-4 and am more than a little concerned, both on the tow and the dealer permanently fixing both problems - I live rurally at 7300 feet in cool dry Durango CO-I've read the threads on this problem and it sounds perplexing- any additional hints on towing and handling the dealer/ service managers?;shrug ;shrug

When did your warranty expire if it was recently they might cover it. If you have had it done before they will most likely handle it. It ended up costing me close to 600 dollars on my 10,000 mile car. Good luck its very frustrating!

Thanks - warranty expired may, 11th 03--I'm sure I'll have to arm wrestle them.Is your problem permanently fixed?? Thanks Steve

you could buy the extended insurance then take it in for repairs

The easy part is the water. Your drain is plugged and you can clear it with a piece of wire.
