C1 and power steering

If I wanted to add power steering to my 1960 C1, do I need to change from the motor mount that goes over the motor to the lower side mounts direct to the frame? I am not sure, but thought I read some place that the only way to add power steering to the car was to get rid of that big bulky mount up on top so that all the brackets and pulleys will fit....is that right?

Side mounts would interfere with the stock steering column. Here's one option:

In my book, however, that's too much to pay and still have the stock kingpin suspension. For that kind of money, you could be well on your way to the purchase of a bolt-on or weld-in rack and pinion setup.
