Just got all 4 corner bumpers and the rear horseshoe back from the rechromer. They look great! Better than I could have ever imagined considering they were not in the best shape to start with. The chrome looks deep, and smooth only a few TINY ripples on the bottom of one bumper, all necessary repairs were made, including weld nuts and threads cleaned out and one rust through repair. The back sides are all clean and free of debris. No short cuts taken. I'm not a chrome expert but these are definitely better quality than all the repro trim I have gotten for the car. They were all packaged very well with heavy tissue paper followed by small bubble wrap, then large bubble wrap and then brown paper and packed in a surprisingly small carton. It's nice to get a little more than you expect once in a while :)

Congradulations

And yes it is suprizing when some one under promises and over delivers

Studiog,

WHo did your chrome ? I was not real pleased when I had mine done (about 9 yrs ago) by a guy in Phila. Had to take several parts back several times.

Anyway...a friend is looking to get some Harley parts done and the only guy (fairly local) that I heard good things about was Tony Librandi in Middletown, PA

Curious as to who you used.

I used Nu-Chrome in Fall River MA. www.nu-chrome.com. I found them on the web and they were recommended by someone on this forum. I thought they were reasonably priced.

Really glad to hear you're happy with the results and that things were packaged so well. Lately it seems you guys have been getting hit below the belt with brutal unexpected problems and setbacks , never mind the obvious extra expenses with these restorations. Maybe it is all part of it but it doesn't make that pill any easier to swallow! Sometimes I wonder how you guys are able to keep your positive attitude and sense of humour through it, but you do!
Have a good weekend! Cheers:beer

It would be much harder to deal with if it weren't for this forum. The tips and advice here has really save me allot of heart ache and when things do go bad it helps if you can post it and save someone else the same heartache. You have a good weekend too.

PS: I tried to see if my chrome buildup on adjacent parts was going to affect any fitments but I guess I won't know till I start assemblying some of those parts. Keep you posted.

I've spent thousands with NU Chrome they are a stand up operation. I have never had even the slightest problem with any of their work. I have no problem whatsoever reccomending them. Glad it worked out for you. :upthumbs
