This is a photo of the hole and plates I had to make to mount the new floor hand brake and the lokar trans shifter that is mounted to the back of my 700r4 trans.Notice the digital display for the shift indicator You will also notice my lokar gas pedal that operates a cable to the carb,My new autometer clock that matches my gauge cluster with a bezel I had to make so it fit in the clock hole.

This is a picture of the plate I had to make to mount my floor hand brake,I had to make a plate because I was afraid from the constant yanking up on the hand brake I may have torn it loose from the fiberglass tunnel,This way I just added more surface area to meet against the fiberglass tunnel. I think I will just have enough room in the tunnel for the drive shaft, Worst exstreeme I may have to raise it up into the car a little.

Time will tell

You can also just barely see the plate I made for the shifter bezel to mount to.

This last photo is a picture of the 700r4 trans as it mounts to the sr111 frame.the trans case is out of an impalla.caprice,station wagon,suburban,tahoe the vette trans will not work because of the way it mount in a vette

Also you can see how the lokar shifter mounts directly to the transmition case,its completely reversable.I I wanted to I could have flipped the mount and brought it as much as 4" closer to the engine

EDIT:

Brian/vette I made an error on the phone yesterday,The entire trans case is from other then a vette,Yesterday I had told you it was just the tail shaft.I was mistaken.

Its from a company called lokar,John McGraw gave me the heads up on them, They have made my life alot easeyer,You name it they make it.the hot rod guys have been using ther stuff for years. They have alot of simple solutions to dificult problems in building a custom car

They are not the cheapest but there quaility of parts has been Top Notch and well worth every penny
 
Lokar is a street rod parts manufacturer that makes life easy for custom builders. When you are building a custom Corvette take some time to aquire and leaf through the street rod catalogs. There are lots of things in there that will be just what you want.

The E-brake will clear by a mile, trust me! I only used 3/8" mounting pads on the body, and the brake cleared by over 1.5". The nice thing is that the driveshaft does not move up and down like the original! LOL

I still have not decided what to do about the boot bezel on my brake handle.The one that they supplied lands right on top of the fasteners that mount mine to the floor pan. I think that I am going to make stainless bezel that is larger than the one they supplied and form it around the tunnel.

I am going to round/shape my bezel to the tunnel,Then I am going to insert 3/8's thick X 1/2" wide strips in between my bolts that mount the brakets to the floor.(to level the bezel) then just drill and tap the strips to hold the bezel on.
 
Really Awesome......great work that you guys do....VERY INSPIRING.....the SRIII frame that you got, did you get the bare frame and then add the suspension parts yourself or did you get the fully outfitted frame with front and rear suspension and brake pieces installed? If you had it to do all over again, would you do the other one that you didn't do? I know the price premium for the fully populated version is an adder of about $6k.

I would like to hear your comments.....again, what you guys do to share your pictures...is VERY inspiring...VERY....thank you!!!

I had chose to purchase the basic frame.The main reason is I wanted to build a car from parts,Seems silly but that was a main reason.

I am also running a dana 44 instead of the standard dana36 with the hopes that its a little more stout and will with stand the beating it will take behind the big block, If I was really under the gun to build the car or did not want to source the parts I might I gotton a rolling frame from Mike,Also the way I figured it I was going to have the suspention parts on and off several times during the build. I also think if you get a bare frame it ships truck lines,if you get a roller it ships via a car carrier.
