I have been trying to acquire the front flag emblem and the headlight bezel extensions for my 61 for about 5 months now. My usual suppliers Paragon & Corvette Central (who I am otherwise very happy with for price, quality & service) keep telling me every month for the last 5 months that delivery is just a few weeks away. I wish they would have been honest and just said they can't get them and I would have looked elsewhere. I am sure there are other manufactures out there that would be happy to have the business of making these parts. If their supplier is incapable of delivering they should seek out a new source. I know these are only one or two year parts but geez. I bet there are several talented people on this forum that could knock these out in short order. I have been looking on Ebay but haven't won an auction yet. Wish me luck.

:) I feel much better now, Thank You :)

did you try Vettegal?

I know the feeling all too well. I had some troubles with some trim parts also and ity seems aa manufacturer is giving them improper information. What ever paragon was out of every one else was with a longer back order dating. Good luck I just got my horn button for my 62 that it seems I was waiting forever for

STAY COOL your almost there.

UPDATE: Just won a set of NOS chrome bezel extensions on Ebay. One down one to go. :beer

Glad you got them. I was going to bid on them too. I've been looking for new ones to replace my existing ones and have lost two other bids in the last few weeks. But since I don't really need them and you do, I decided I can wait. Hope you have as much good luck with getting the emblem.

Thanks Dennis, I appreciate it. That was very considerate of you. If I see another set I'll let you know.

Thanks Ray! I can't believe I finally snagged a pair of these things. How hard is it to get the rivets in without damaging your painted bezels?

I've been wondering the same, especially taking off the old.

I have a soft piece of leather that I used over top of soft wood pine board as a backer. The extension chrome trim has post that is part of the casting and need to be peened over. I used a small amount of JB Weld on the under side to insure that the extensions would not come off.

That sounds like good insurance with the JB Weld. Are the posts soft-aluminium? what did you use to peen?

I usually use tiny Dremmel grinding wheels in my small Die Grinder for this type of work. Usually works very well. Safety goggles of course.

Makes sense. Both using a dremmel and wearing goggles !

How are you going to paint chrome?

When I'm working with small parts I usually have my face right in there up close and those little grinding wheels have a tendency to break.

Hi Wally, Didn't bid on a chrome bezel just the chrome extension that mounts to the top of the painted bezel.

:upthumbs Sorry, now I completely understand. I guess those little stainless pieces are hard to find. I hope you didn`t get hosed. Good luck on the toy!:beer

No, didn't get hosed, but I was prepared for a good hosing as I just wanted the darn things done with.
