1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
So I am working on the 62 this week end,I want to get the weather strips on so I can start adjusting the hood, rear trunk, and convertable lid, So my questions are.

Do all of the strips mount to the hood, trunk, and deck lid or do they mount to the body. Any picture you think I could use please post them or email them to me.

Also I have these spacers for the front grill, From the aim it seems

Body-washer-spacer-grill-nut

But the grill seems to mount fine with out them,What are there purpose.

I am also having a problem with the button for the rear deck lid. When you push on it ,it can go all the way in and gets stuck,it seems I am missing some type of a stop or something.

I am sure I will have a ton more questions tomorow. I am working very hard to make some progress before the end of the month,

The hood weather strip attaches only to the rear of the hood. The convertible top door has the weather strip going completely around the door or hatch. The trunk weather strip attaches to the trunk lid, starts at the latch and continues around until it meets at the starting point. I found it easier to glue at the starting point, tape and let set until secure. Then I glued and taped the strip into place. Finial step was to trim excess and secure the end with glue.

Hopefully some one else will provide a diagram or pictures, I will try to locate the instructions that came with my weather strip, it has a diagram of locations and starting points.

What page in AIM are you looking at for the grill, I am looking at pg. 137A and do not see spacers? Mine had some front end work done so I am not sure if it was correct when I removed the grill.

Do you have two rubber bumper stops on you top deck lid. They have a screw through them for mounting. You can also adjust after weather-stripping

I dont understand the purpose of the spacers they pull the grill away from the chrome moldings. (maybee its for bumper clearance) Any one with a 62 that they can compare how the grill mates up with the chrome and tell if I have the grill in upside down
